VETEMENTS
2017-2019

When I was employed at Vetements, I worked on 5 collections. In many cases, the process of my work was such that we used well-known designs and re-staged them.

For example, there was the print: “It's my Birthday and all I got is a lousy T-shirt”, which I changed to: “Its my Birthday and all I got was this Overpriced Hoodie from Vetements”. A self-criticism that once again fueled the debate about Vetements' prices. The sweater was certainly not too expensive for Rhianna, so VETEMENTS gave her the oversized version instead of the overpriced model for her 30th birthday.

For the spring-summer 19 collection, I wrote Vetements in Georgian letters. It wasn't easy to find a font that came close to Helvetica. Helvetica doesn't have Cyrillic Georgian letters, so I had to find a similar font. The print on the collage sweater says Spring Summer 2019 and at the bottom it says Vetements.
